The house, Houtsak Ina (Basque
translation means 'What I dreamed of'),
is set in the rural town of Pouillon in the
countryside of the Landes department
in the South West of France.
The house overlooks the charming Chalosse countryside and the sweetcorn fields which run as far as the eye can see. The house, set in a quiet location, is a charming Basque-style country building with a large private heated pool, sun terrace overlooking the fields, and landscaped gardens.
|
It is a stone's throw from the ocean, the forests of the Landes, the Pyrenees and Spain. Its ideal location means that during the course of the year you can do almost anything that you want or have ever wanted to turn your hand to. |
Pouillon is the main
town in a canton of
more than 2,700 inhabitants (now 2,702!)
in the South West of the Chalosse
region. It has 3 restaurants (2 in the
town and 1 up by the local lake), 3
bars, its own market, caves
(wine cellars), rugby team and a
Courses Landaises Arena (ballet with
bulls - has to be seen to be believed!).
